The phrase "the wild and rather disorganized chaos" is truly redundant because chaos means the state of things which are wild and disorganized, which constitute tautology.


2)The translator has got it wrong in that he has failed in a full grasp of the concepts of exploration and expectation. The two noun concepts are gradational from exploration (action) to expectation (emotion). He is mistaken in the grasp of the statement {{"I want to find something that I know is out there."}} He or she has misconstrued the statement to mean to the effect that "I want to seek what is in the In the Internet."


3)Nothing like that. Don't you, the translator, see its syntactic structure? In this statement the subject is the first-person pronoun I, the predicate verb is want, the objective is the infinitive phrase 'to find,' and the objective of the verb find is the adjective clause led by the relative pronoun 'that' (that is omitted here), so, the objective of the verb find is {{that something that I know is out there}} In this case, the surfer does the search work to make certain that the search engine is so effective as to verify his established knowledge or information. For example, I, one and literally the only one competent reviewer who has been nagging about the mistranslations of and by Korean authors (English into Korean) puts queries 'shimmanni' or 'mistranslations by Korean authors' onto the search box and waits to see what's going on.


4)The translator should not have transliterated the directory or something, which, of course, is liable to be mistaken to mean telephone guide books, which is not, but which means the categories of services (서비스 목록) as we see in the Web pages of www.Yahoo.com. A hierarchical approach subsequently signifies the surfers' shift of attitudes from exploration to expectation. It's been a regret and an irony that the two translators of the search-related books The Google Story and The Search have gotten the messages wrong.
