[딱한 번역자]:1)긴장하지 않은 탓이라고 생각은 합니다. 그렇지만 어떻게 이런 실수를 할 수가 있을까 하고 생각해 봅니다. 번역자의 실수의 카테고리에 이 유형의 실수가 들어가겠군요. 2)지금 한창 야구 경기의 계절인데요. 야구 경기에 비유해서 말한다면 야수가 방심한 나머지 쉽게 잡을 수 있는 공을 놓친다거나 에이스 투수가 상대 하위 서열의 대타를 너무 깔보고 직구를 던져 홈런을 맞는 것과 같다고 봅니다.
[motion-picture]:1)번역자가 자기가 번역하고 있는 작품의 시대적 정체성을 놓치고 있다는 이 현상은 어쩌면 아주 심각한 이야기죠. 이 [살인의 해석]이라는 소설은 1909년의 시대를 배경으로 전개되는 시대물인데 그만 번역자는 21세기로 와 있으니 말입니다. 2)motion-picture를 “영화”로 옮긴 번역자는 이 번역을 하면서 졸고 있었던 가 봅니다. 마땅히 “활동사진”이라고 옮겨야지요.
[locomotive를 자동차로 옮기는 그 무신경]:1)사전상의 의미로도 locomotive는 ‘자동차’가 결코 아니죠. 증기기관차, 증기로 기타 증기로 움직이는 증기선 따위를 locomotive라고 하죠. 이 실수 또한 1909년 대의 이야기를 깜빡 잊고 [메가박스]에서 영화 본 기억을 혼동하여 옮기고 있으니 참으로 딱하군요.

[comments]::1)There is a weird scene unfolding before us in which a human being must be trapped in labyrinthine trails. Ill-formed mindset, intermingled with fantasy, amnesia, and disorientation, worsens the situation. I wish the pathetic quarry an early exit before dusk falls.
2)People and things have names. They come to have lives from the moment they have had their own names. You are supposed to call them according to their designations. Which is why nomenclature counts.
3)You remember, assess, evaluate, identify, and communicate by means of names. So, if you lose track of them, you lose connections. Connections to friends, loved ones, your cherished memories. As a natural result, you'll have to end up in the loss of identity.
4)Motion-pictures are a name which had been designated to novel pictures which had been moving before the ecstatic eyes of the audience at the turn of the 20th century. The Interpretation of Murder recounts the people and bizarre murder cases at the year of 1909. The Korean author has made a folly of translating "a moving-picture show" into movies.
5)The translator has got it wrong. Utterly wrong in that he or she has misconstrued the statement in question {{when a locomotive appeared to steam straight at the audience}}to mean to the effect "when an automobile car dashed in the direction of the audience." It's been a real shame for the so-called translator to make this kind of blunder. The cause for the fiasco is obvious. The moment he lost the name of motion-pictures he lost the locomotive altogether. He was not able to see the locomotive train rushing toward him puffing out steams all the way.
